Favorite Book Quote: Shadow Of The Storm

book-quote-3

Currently, I’m reading Shadow of the Storm, and I’m finding the overall story, especially the character of Shira, inspiring. More about this story will be shared in a upcoming book review, but for the time being, I wanted to share this quote. To me, this quote is about finding strength: coming out of the shadows and learning to be strong, brave, and in the end, yourself.

We Are Searching For A Hero

22

We Are Searching For A Hero

We are searching for a hero
Someone we can look up to
We are searching for an answer
That’s not very hard to find
We are searching for a hero
Some we can look up to
We’re just searching for a peace of mind

Is there someone out there
Who will take a stand
For the sick, the dying, the starving
Wanting one to understand

Is there someone out there
Who will reach out a hand
For the poor, depressed, distressed
And hopeless common man

To change this place
To end the pain

We are searching for a hero
Someone we can look up to
We are searching for an answer
That’s not very hard to find
We are searching for a hero
Some we can look up to
We’re just searching for a peace of mind

Is there someone out there
Who will take hate away
Transforming foes to friends
Ending all war in vain

Is there someone out there
Who will inspire the world to care
Showing that humanity can reach
The other side where love abides

To change this place
To end the pain

We are searching for a hero
Someone we can look up to
We are searching for an answer
That’s not very hard to find
We are searching for a hero
Some we can look up to
We’re just searching for a peace of mind

Poetry Photo Book!

22

Earlier this May, I announced that I would be releasing a poetry photo book. I envisioned great things for this book and I can honestly say that I’m happy with the results. However this is not the first time I put together and release books for sale—when I started blogging in 2012 I released 2 poetry books on Amazon, which have long since been removed. But through that undertaking and even the current one, I learned that creating a book is just a third of the work. Getting it on sale pages and marketing is the rest, which seems to be the most challenging and the least fun.

Initially, I wanted to sell my book on Apple iBooks and Amazon. However, through Blurb, I can only sell a book on one site but not the others. If I want to do so, I have to create another version for each of the other sites. If I want to sell them as an e-book, I also have to convert them and pay for that conversion. To me, it just seems like a lot of work and extra costs for something I have yet to see how it will sell. I mainly want to share my book with those who are interested above anything else.

I wanted to sell e-book versions on Amazon and Apple ibooks, and not a physical copy (Amazon), since when I looked at the costs, the book became very expensive to sell on Amazon, with the costs being past $50.00 (this is without me getting any profit).

So, I have decided to sell the book on Blurb.com alone. At Blurb, you can see both versions (coffee table book and trade book) and preview the first 15 pages. Though there is no e-book version at the moment (I will work on that), there is a pdf version available.

On my new website, I will be posting 10 of the 40 poems featured in the book. This is to give readers an idea of the theme and content of the book, but also to allow those who wish to not or can’t purchase the book to see what I have put together.

With this all said, I invite you to check out the books on Blurb.com and if you are someone or know someone who enjoys poetry and is a collector of books, this just might be the perfect gift or something to have.

Thank you everyone for your feedback regarding this endeavor and support 🙂

My poetry book is now on this website. Click here for more information.

I Will Seek You

I Will Seek You

I will look for you in the pouring rain
When the sun has gone astray
I will look for you in the shadows of darkness
Where the troubled have lost their way

I will seek you
And you will find me
In my isolated place
I will run to you
And you will catch me
Like a father’s warm embrace

I will look for you in the valleys of no return
Where the poor and out casted stay
I will look for you in the crazy jungle
Where some peace still remains today

I will seek you
And you will find me
In my isolated place
I will run to you
And you will catch me
Like a father’s warm embrace

You will tell me
Child I love you
Always have and always will
You will tell me
Child do not despair
Where you are alone
I’m always there
Child I care…

And I will
Seek you
And you will find me
In my isolated place
I will run to you
And you will catch me
Like a father’s warm embrace
Like a father’s warm embrace
Like a father’s warm embrace
I will seek you…

Off The Ground

Beaten Path

Off The Ground

I don’t really mind, where I’m heading
As long as you’re by my side
I don’t really care of who has let me down
As long as your there to pick me
From the ground

I will follow wherever you lead
Cause I know where I go, it will bring me peace
I tried to do things alone before
But it was no good, so I don’t want to do it alone
Anymore

You see
I don’t mind who
Lets me down
As long as
You’re there to help me
Off the ground
I don’t mind who
Lets me down
As long as
You’re there to help me
Off the ground

I’m not afraid of storms that come my way
As long as you shelter me through
I know in the end I will survive
Cause you given me the faith and the strength
To stay alive

I will follow wherever you lead
Cause I know where I go, it will bring me peace
I tried to do things alone before
But it was no good, so I don’t want to do it alone
Anymore

You see
I don’t mind who
Lets me down
As long as
You’re there to help me
Off the ground
I don’t mind who
Lets me down
As long as
You’re there to help me
Off the ground

I know you will be there
Every day of my life
All worries, sadness, and fears
Are all gone when you’re here
I believe in you, and I know
You believe in me
Not only have you given me life
But you’ve set me free…
From uncertainty, from misery
From pain, all troublesome things

You see
I don’t mind who
Lets me down
As long as
You’re there to help me
Off the ground
I don’t mind who
Lets me down
As long as
You’re there to help me
Off the ground

All We Need

watercolor ropes

All We Need

Why should we suffer
When all we need is here
Why should we hide undercover
When all we need is here
Why should we cry, or turn our backs behind
When all we want it here
Why should we ask all these questions
When the answers all lie here

Will we ever get tired
Of fighting in this fire
Will we ever end the pain
Of losing everything

When will we see the children’s smiles
And not their awful frowns
When will we live as one together
Instead of always putting each other down

Why should we suffer
When all we need is here
Why should we hide undercover
When all we need is here
Why should we cry, or turn our backs behind
When all we want it here
Why should we ask all these questions
When the answers all lie here

When will we fight for peace
And not with the enemy
When will we be inspired
To bring what is so admired

When will we wipe a nation’s tears
And finally make a change
When will we reach out a helping hand
Instead of going back and forth with these games

Why should we suffer
When all we need is here
Why should we hide undercover
When all we need is here
Why should we cry, or turn our backs behind
When all we want it here
Why should we ask all these questions
When the answers all lie here

I know, I believe
There can be freedom
There can be peace
This all can be achieved
Once we realized
That we can never win
If there’s no peace in mind
So,

Why should we suffer
When all we need is here
Why should we hide undercover
When all we need is here
Why should we cry, or turn our backs behind
When all we want it here
Why should we ask all these questions
When the answers all lie here
