It’s Good To Be Home

This Old House

It’s Good To Be Home

It’s good to be home
No matter where I go
Nothing seems right
If I’m not laying under the stars
In a familiar place
At midnight

It’s good to be home
Where friends never go
There’s no need for plans
Just stop at your friend’s
They’ll understand
That whatever the day brings
What’s chosen to be done today
Doesn’t need to be thought out
Things are going to be great

How I need to get back home
How far, so far I have roamed
Today, I’m all alone
My skies are very grey
I need to get back to my friends
They’re waiting to see me some day

It’s good to be home
No matter how long I’ve roamed
Nothing much will change
Only good will remain
And friends of yesteryear
Will still be here
Ready to continue on with plans
As if I never went away

  1. Ohhhhh, were you travelling? There truly is no place like home.

    • Hi Staci–unfortunately I haven’t traveled in a while from where I currently live, but in this poem, I am reflecting on a place from childhood, where I felt I was home–where there was true comfort and joy. This is me wishing to find a place, if not the same, like this again πŸ™‚

      • Ohhhhh, I hope you find that place Crystal. It’s so nice that you have happy childhood memories.
        Bless you.

  2. It’s feels so good to read your posts, they let me imagine things you write. πŸ™‚
